Prolific Prep hit the court at 4pm Sunday afternoon against Denver Prep.  The Crew is coming off their last second victory over highly ranked AZ Compass Saturday night in the Grind Session Crush in the Valley event at Contra Costa college in San Pablo CA.

Denver Prep is in its first year on the Grind Session and is a fun basketball team to watch play with a fantastic nickname, the Yettis.

The game started off slowly with both teams playing very even and after 6 minutes of play the score was Prolific Prep 14 Denver Prep 10.

Sophomore Zion Sensley hit a deep 3 followed by another deep 3 from Kansas commit MJ Rice and the Crew quickly had a 9 point lead. With 11:09 left in the first half Denver Prep called a timeout to regroup.

After the timeout the Crew turned the ball over 4 times and Denver scored on each opportunity. Quickly the score was Prolific Prep 30 and Denver 25. Coach McKnight made a few substitutions to his squad and behind scores by Adem Bona and MJ Rice the Prolific Prep lead was 36-29 at the half.

Denver came out on a 6-2 run to start the second half but solid offensive play by Jordan Pope and MJ Rice stopped their surge. Coach McKnights point guard Jordan Pope and USC Commit Tre White took over the game scoring easy buckets and putting the crew up 52-37 with 12:03 left in the second half.

Denver got a couple quick scores from Baye Fall in the key and a 3-point shot by Chandler Wilson forcing Coach McKnight to call a timeout.

Prolific Prep came out of the timeout and Jordan Pope hit two quick 3’s to put the crew up 58-42.

Denver started pressuring Pope full court but to no avail.  Jordan got the ball over the timeline with ease using his excellent dribbling skills.  Prolific Prep controlled the game the rest of the way playing strong defense winning by a score of 82-64.
