Prolific Prep of Napa Valley and Dream City Christian of Arizona tipped off this afternoon in the final game of the Marshall County Hoopfest. It was the second meeting of the young season for the two squads who met in early October in Las Vegas with Prolific Prep getting the win 69-57.

The big difference in this game at the beginning is that the #1 high school player in the country Shaedon Sharpe is no longer with Dream City.  The senior graduated early and is already at the University of Kentucky getting ready to play for coach Calipari next season.

The starting five for Dream City has two former Prolific Prep players point guard Milos Uzan who is headed to Oklahoma next season and the uncommitted Yohan Traore.  Traore recently received a full ride offer from Kentucky coach Calipari earlier in the Hoopfest.

Adem Bona the UCLA commit won the tip off for Prolific Prep and immediately took the ball strong to the basket for a dunk and a quick 2-0 lead for the Crew.   The first 10 minutes of the game was highlighted by defense with low scoring as both teams were very physical. Dream City held a 13-12 lead and were lead by Uzan the crafty senior point guard while Bona controlled the game for the Crew with dominant inside play.

USC commit Tre White put prolific Prep up 14-13 with a sweet dribble drive to the bucket, but Dream City put on a 15 point run with solid play by Nate Pickens, Uzan and Traore to build a 28-18 halftime lead.

Dream City got the ball first to start the second half and Milos Uzan quickly brought the ball up court and drove the lane for a quick 2 points and a 30-18 point lead. Prolific Prep fought back over the first 8 minutes of the second half and cut the lead to 38-34 until MJ Rice received a technical foul for complaining to the referee about a call.  Uzan hit both free throws from the technical foul to put the Eagles up 40-34 with 9:50 seconds left to play.

Tre White grabbed a rebound after a missed Dream City shot and drove the full court and hit a 15 foot floater to start a Prolific Prep comeback. Over the next 8 minutes of play behind solid offense by MJ Rice, Jordan Pope, Adem Bona and Tre White the Crew tied the ball game up at 48-48.

With both teams in the double bonus and under a minute to play Jordan Pope was fouled and went to the line and hit both free throws to give the Crew their first lead of the second half at 51-50. On the in bounds play Nate Pickens got the pass from Uzan and missed a long range jumper, Tre White got the rebound for the Crew and dribbled into the front court where he was fouled. White hit both free throws to put the Crew up 53-50 with 11.3 seconds left on the clock. After a time out by coach Weaver from Dream City Milos Uzan took the ball the length of the court and hit a 3 point shot just a split second too late. The final buzzer went off and Prolific Prep got the victory 53-50.
