Denver Prep and Minnesota Prep met for the first time in the Grind Session Friday night in the Mustang Madness Tourney in Paducah Kentucky. Denver is in its first year on the Grind Session and Minnesota Prep is on year number three.

Denver jumped on Minnesota quick to start the game going up 21-8 after the first quarter of action.  Denver was lead by five star center Baye Fall, Assane Diop and guard Juanse Gorosito. Minnesota freshman guard Jalyn Patterson played solid for team in the first quarter.

Minnesota Prep climbed back in the game to start the second quarter behind solid play by Brenden Moss, but Denver went on a quick short run to go up 31-19 after another 3 pointer by Gorosito with 3:26 left in the quarter.  Denver went into the locker room up 42-32 at the half.

Both teams traded buckets for most of the third quarter until Minnesota made a small run on great play by Moss and Patterson to cut the lead to 8 points. Baye Fall scored in the key twice and Denver finished the third quarter up 62-51.

Minnesota got it together to start the final quarter and cut the lead to 3, 64-61, on a 3-point bucket by Moss, but Denver played strong defense at the end to win 81-66.  Next up for Denver is Dream City Christian on Saturday night.
