Prolific Prep took the opening tip tonight against OSL from New York and scored in under 8 seconds. N’Famara Dabo took a pass from Jordan Pope and layed the ball in for a quick 2-0 lead. Tonight’s contest is being played under regular Kentucky high school rules with 8 minutes quarters and no shot clock.  The usual Grind Session rules are 18 minutes halves with a 30 second shot clock.

After the timeout both teams continued to feel each other out until Silas Sunday made a great defensive stop against MJ Rice on a spectacular dunk attempt. After the first quarter ended OSL had the lead at 12-10 over the Crew.

OSL came out quick in the second quarter as Jaquan Sanders hit back to back three pointers to put OSL up 18-12. Prolific Prep fought back with solid play from Tre White, MJ Rice, and Adem Bona to take a 32-27 halftime lead into the locker room.

Silas Sunday came out quick and scored a quick 2 pts over Bona to start the second half for OSL, but Adem Bona came right back and scored a quick dunk for the Crew.  Prolific Prep did not shoot very good from long range in the first half, but in the second half coach McKnight began to use his teams size down low. Adem Bona, and Mor Seck 6’10” and 7’1” respectively played hard on the boards against OSL’s big man 7 footer Silas Sunday. After 3 quarters Prolific Prep had a 52-41 point lead.

The final quarter Prolific Prep held the lead for most of the quarter fighting off any comeback attempt by OSL. The boys got a little heated with 4 minutes to go and a technical foul was called against OSL.  Jordan Pope made 1 of 2 at the line for the technical foul and Prolific Prep had a 60-47 lead with 4 and a half minutes left in the game. The teams went back and forth until Jordan Pope hit Bona with a sweet alley oop pass for a dunk to put the Crew up 69-51 with 1:51 on the clock.
